Postpartum coil insertion, also known as immediate postpartum intrauterine device (IUD) placement, is a contraceptive method where a small device is inserted into the uterus shortly after childbirth.

Postpartum coil insertion provides immediate and highly effective contraception, helping to prevent unintended pregnancies soon after childbirth. This is particularly crucial for individuals who want to space their pregnancies or delay further pregnancies for various reasons, such as financial stability, career goals, or personal well-being.
